A Legitimate Business Model

For many years, network marketing opportunities have been proven to be a legitimate way for entrepreneurs to start their own business and earn profit. Companies such as ACN, Avon, Mary Kay, AmWay and a host of others market their products/services through a network of independent representatives who have face-to-face contact with consumers. Word of mouth promotion has always been incredibly powerful and is more often than not the best way to move goods and services.

Unfortunately, there have been businesses of this type that turned out to be nothing more than pyramid schemes whereby commissions would be paid to top tier representatives when new recruits were added to their downline, even if no product or service was being purchased. In those cases, lower level distributors would spend money on their franchise fee yet not be able to recoup their investment due to an unreliable/low grade product or service, that they couldn't find customers for. These MLMs were illegal and tarnished an otherwise honourable business model's reputation.

In MLM, as with any kind of sales or marketing, you must believe in what you are selling. Never get behind a product/service without first finding out if it is legit, and never fall for schemes selling products/services/business opportunities that make impossible promises. For example, beware of miracle products that promise instant results for wealth, weight loss, acne treatment, muscle/energy building, eternal youth, etc.

Try out the products or speak to reliable sources that have. Corporate testimonials will obviously be biased (even if completely true), so it is wise to do your own research to validate the claims. Ask yourself if people will really buy what you are marketing, and if it is reasonably priced. Make sure that the MLM you are joining only pays commissions when merchandise is actually moved, not just when new recruits sign up. Selling a theoretical business opportunity is illegal. It must be proven that the company's wares are legitimate and are being distributed in order for revenue to be generated from which commissions can then be paid out.

Take the time to understand the federal/regional regulations and consumer rights as well. Make sure that there are no complaints against the company with the Better Business Bureau, Federal Trade Commission, and/or Consumer Protection Agency. Also, watch out for companies that promise big earnings and instant success. If something sounds too good to be true, it most likely is. Stay away from any franchise opportunity that requires representatives to purchase a large amount of inventory to get started.

With the many options available, along with the general stigma that has for the most part wrongly been associated with network marketing, people may have difficulty deciding which MLM businesses are legitimate and which are not. The easiest way to gather as much information as possible before making any commitment would be to talk to people you trust who are, or have been in network marketing. If you don't know any such people, you should visit various companies' websites to see what they are about. Visit online forums to hear what others have to say about their experiences. Watch out for recruiters, both online and offline. These people will be eager to find distributors because they are getting paid to do so. They will always paint an over hyped, rosy picture of their business. Avoid these phonies at all cost!

Before signing on the dotted line, make sure you are comfortable with the expectations of the company. Remember that part of the job with network marketing companies will involve working with others one-on-one, as well as having to push a product/service/business opportunity in various settings. Therefore, marketers need to keep in mind that there will be some pressure from the company to meet the minimum sales requirements and to make commissions. Take the time to read over your contract and never sign on the dotted line under pressure. If you can, talk to other MLM distributors and ask them about what to expect in the work and how they manage their time and energy.

In recent decades, MLM has gotten a bad reputation due to several dishonest companies and unfortunate incidents. One has to keep in mind though, that no industry is immune to this and network marketing is no different, and no worse. Also, quite a few people who joined network marketing companies and did absolutely no work, while expecting to magically become rich have gone around unfairly trashing the business. This still happens and should never cloud your judgement. On the flipside many people have made a reasonable income in legitimate multi level marketing firms. The key is to find a good product/service with a company that is nationally known and reliable. Once you have a winner, it will only be a matter of hard work, time, and patience before your franchise is a winner as well.

Paying For Web Traffic

There are a substantial number of people making good money online, but for every success story, there are at least a hundred that don't end the same way. Without traffic to your web site, all your effort goes to waste. Every business needs customers, without them you wouldn’t have anyone to promote your products/services/business opportunity to. The more constant traffic you have the better your odds are of seeing lasting results.

Knowing that only a small percentage of visitors will become either your customers or business partners, your goal should be to drive enough steady web traffic to have a large group of targeted leads. Large companies have huge marketing budgets that allow them to generate tens of thousands of page views each day. Even a very small conversion rate can produce massive results. Obviously you won't be able to compete with those numbers, however, with a diverse Internet marketing advertising strategy you can reach an incredibly wide audience. This is the beauty of the Internet and being an online entrepreneur in the 21st century.

Many successful enterprises get their traffic by paying others. Like the old saying goes; you have to spend money to make money. Advertising is the key. The more people that know about you the better. Despite there being a myriad of free online marketing strategies, they do not generate the same high volume as those that you pay for such as Pay Per Click, paid classifieds, banners, directory listings, indexes, and others.

Advertising with major search engines like Google and Yahoo is the best place to start because, as you already know, search engines are the first place people go to look for what interests them. Search engines provide information to the many millions of users that they have each day. If you get your site ranked highly enough, you stand a great chance of getting steady and targeted traffic. While search engine optimization is a cheaper and low cost way to give your site a high rank, paying for advertisements will ensure that your listing remains very high.

When using Pay Per Click marketing you normally get charged a certain fee every time your link gets clicked. For some search engines, you will be charged with the number of times your ad shows up when a certain keyword or keyword phrase is searched. It is therefore vital that you have good keyword content in your ad. Be careful when selecting keywords and take your time. Pay per click can get expensive if not used correctly but it is a very worthwhile investment for any serious online entrepreneur.

All the money you invest for advertising is a fully deductible business expense and will drastically improve your traffic. This will in turn boost your conversion rate of web visitors into customers of your products/services and new recruits to your franchise opportunity. Start branding your business online first using all the free strategies, but then move on to paid advertising because nothing beats it in the long run. You will be able to grow your team exponentially this way and not spend as much time to get very little in return which is what will happen if all you do is market for free.

There are just too many online marketers doing the same thing and it is virtually impossible not to get lost in the shuffle without resorting to other ways of getting to the head of the line in much less time. Time is precious and a non-renewable resource. It must be valued as such, and as we all are painfully aware…time is money. Cheers!

Dealing With Stress

Everyone faces stressful situations. It is just one of those unpleasant things in life that is often out of our control. Your goal should be to minimize the chances of stress getting the better of you. Stress can inevitably lead to a variety of ailments such as heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, and it ruins general mental health as well. Depression, anxiety, irritability, and other emotional problems can all be triggered by it. Your daily life can be affected negatively in so many ways if you don't learn to manage life's curveballs and stay calm and focused.

Stress management is the best thing that you can do to live a long and prosperous life. It is impossible to avoid stress completely but managing the stress you have in a better way can help it not be as painful and life threatening. Here are some stress management tips that you can incorporate into your life today so you can have a whole new outlook on life tomorrow:

-Take the time to relax. Everyone needs downtime to recharge their batteries. While you may be very busy, you must make time for your body and mind to rest and repair itself. Stop worrying, and stop the running around. Try to give yourself a few hours per week where you do absolutely nothing. Also reserve time for yourself to engage in a hobby like reading, playing music, dancing, cooking etc…

-Don't overload yourself. Learn to say ''no'' to new responsibilities when your plate is already full. One of the main reasons why people feel burnt out or stressed is that they take on too many tasks at once and underestimate how much time and energy they will need to complete them. Be realistic and don't overextend yourself. If you cannot handle all the work, admit it. Do not wear yourself out, and begin delegating immediately.

-Engage in physical activity. Exercise plays a key role in minimizing the damage that stress does to our health. When you go to the gym, play sports, practise martial arts etc… endorphins are released by the brain. These chemicals are associated with pain relief and euphoria. Endorphin levels rise significantly both in the brain and in the body as a result of physical activity. When you make exercise a constant in your life, increased endorphin levels will benefit your health by calming you down.

-Purchase stress relief products and place them where you need them. For example, a stress relief ball is an ideal tool to have on hand always. It will allow you to work through your stress, making it much less and much more capable of being dealt with. Take one to work, have one near anything that causes you stress. You can set up a punching bag at home and go to town on it when wanting to release any aggression.

Other ways to relieve stress include deep breathing exercises, reading, getting out into nature, filling your home with plants/flowers, the calming effects of light music, watching a funny movie, cooking, dancing, getting a pet, spending time with your kids, family, close friends etc…each individual has their own method. Other ways to relieve stress are yoga, acupuncture, and massages. Do your research and make sure these things are right for you. If so seek the help of a certified professional.

Get The Word Out

To ensure that your MLM business grows you have to continuously reach new customers and recruits for your team. A good advertising campaign is necessary. It may cost a little, but ads that promote an appealing network marketing opportunity can prove quite successful. The great thing is that in today's world, much of your advertising can be done online, for free. It is impossible to be successful in any business without getting the word out to the right prospects so have a multi-faceted marketing campaign in place. Advertising for network marketing absolutely must be done in order to find leads, promote sales, heighten company branding and to close deals with consumers.

The cheapest and most effective form of advertising comes from word of mouth. Talking to family, friends, and their referrals can help promote your MLM's product/services and perhaps spark interest in those wanting to start their own franchise. Home meetings, telephone marketing, meeting for coffee/meal etc…are all great ways to communicate what your business has to offer in a casual and fun way.

Other ways to promote a business is through direct mail campaigns using flyers, business cards, classified ads, and a multitude of online strategies. The best methods of direct mail campaigns today is through post cards, or catch cards. Post cards offer more ad power for less postage than any other direct mail design. Most recipients of post cards will at least look at one side of the card whereas mail ads that must be opened and unfolded will many times only see the inside of a trashcan. One way to make sure that the main message is promoted through post cards is to always include a banner or short ad on the mailing address side.

Post card campaigns have grown in popularity as one of the most cost effective and productive methods of direct mail advertising today. Using local media can be effective by purchasing low cost ads in newspapers and business magazines. More expensive ads can be purchased for television and radio spots but only if you have the budget for it. Content offered through email campaigns, Ezines, blogs, and articles can prove to be very effective in attracting potential customers.

Building relationships with your mailing list members can possibly lead to new recruits to your organization. As long as you provide useful content to your readers and don't come off too pushy they will trust you. They will be attracted to you, and in turn to your business. Update your blog daily and post to other people's blogs. This interaction with other like-minded individuals online can only help brand your name and widen your scope with respect to building your stable of customers and business partners.

As a business blogger you can establish yourself as an expert in your field and add pertinent information to other blogs. Online forums/discussion groups/chat rooms can also be good advertising for network marketing and provide visitors with an opportunity to interact. Other content driven methods are through link exchanges and back linking with similar sites. Traffic exchange sites can also drive a steady flow of traffic whereby you earn credits for visiting other people's web sites and they in turn visit yours. Banner ads, email promotions, pay per click and many other methods of online network marketing advertising are available for varying fees. There are many paths you can take when marketing your business both offline and online. Stay diverse and work consistently to brand your name and business using quality content and valuable relationships.

The Outlook Of A Leader

Over the years we've all heard that humans only use approximately 10% of their brains. Just imagine what we could accomplish using even an ounce of the other 90% that's just sitting there. Great scientists, innovators, and captains of industry have surely found a way to tap into the annals of the wonder that is the human mind. People who are leaders in their respective fields thrive because they possess the right attitude. If a person strongly believes that they will succeed, it will most likely happen. It's all about confidence. The great thing is everyone can harness the power within their own minds and become great leaders.

To do so you have to be willing to take control of your future. Evaluate where you are right now, and what you will have to do to get to where you want. It sounds complicated but if you boil it down to the basics, not at all. Are you happy? If so great, but if not, rather than blame others for your situation, see how you can best attain your goals. Make some changes in your life and get a little bit uncomfortable. Get out of your safe zone. Nothing will change unless you make some smart moves. Take responsibility for your actions and understand how their consequences can affect your future (positively or negatively) for years to come.

Knowledge is power and being wise about what knowledge to seek, and then later apply, is absolute power. Try to learn something new whenever possible so you can add more skills to your arsenal. Surround yourself with positive and successful people whom you can follow. People who have succeeded in life have always had a role model to look up to. Attend seminars, focus groups, and trainings on subjects that interest you. Professionally speaking, you must have a passion for what you are doing, whether it is working a day job or owning your own business. The same goes for your personal and family life. If your heart and soul is truly committed to something things will flow properly.

Leaders and visionaries often leave an indelible mark on many or all of those they meet and interact with. To have the sharp mind of a trailblazer, you have to exercise it. Just like a muscle needs to be exercised to grow, so does your brain. Read books, solve puzzles and other brain teasers, do crosswords, learn foreign languages, play an instrument etc… It takes a bit of time to unlock parts of your brain that normally lie dormant, but you'd be surprised at how versatile the brain can be and the incredible things you can learn to do.

Inventors create new things because their minds just work more effectively than most, and they have the overwhelming urge to produce. It took great minds and hard work to develop things we now take for granted such as electricity, automobile, airplane, home appliances, computer, etc… If the architects of these inventions gave up after their first failure, the world would not have seen all of the advancements that have improved our lives over the last 100 years.

Thinking out of the box and getting a job done is what separates leaders from followers. Formal education is a great thing, however, fundamental things like personal financial literacy are absent from the curriculum. This is a huge mistake. Common sense is not something you can learn just by sitting in a classroom. You either have it or you don't. Listen to your gut. If you feel your instincts are bad, then seek help from those who you trust that can help guide you. You can train your mind to do very well in the ''school of hard knocks''.

Street sense is just as important as having a degree, often more so. Keep your minds open and your vision broad. Take what works and reject what doesn't make sense to you. The mind can only grow if you use it and question things. Pursue the truth about the world around you. Engage others in discussions, debates, and align yourself with like-minded individuals. Success can only come from a series of carefully thought out and executed moves. Start making them and reap the rewards!

Grab Your Readers Attention

With the dizzying number of online entrepreneurs vying for people's attention, you have no choice but to stand out if you want to stay competitive. Paid advertising can get you ahead of the pack but for most of us who have limited budgets, there are many ways in which you don’t have to pay to gain a stable of loyal followers. Having a steady flow of targeted web traffic will allow you to build an opt-in list and make it grow from there. As I have said in the past, keeping your subscribers on your list and constantly interested should be your main goal.

When people sign up, it is because they want to receive news about you and your business by email. However, it doesn’t mean that your subscribers will read everything you send. Many people join mailing lists in exchange for something free like an online business presentation, downloadable eBook, or free software. Some don't really want to keep receiving e-mails after the initial one you send containing their ''gift'' and perhaps a few more. Some that don't unsubscribe from your list right away may just be deleting your emails so this can be deceiving as to who is a really active member of your opt-in members list.

You can minimize this from happening by keeping your emails short and lively and more immediately, by having an eye-catching title which will entice your readers to open each email. You don’t want to waste precious time and effort creating your email campaign just for people to read a few then delete the rest, or even unsubscribe from your mailing list altogether. You want people's interest to be piqued. Only this will make them visit your web site and learn about your products/services/business opportunity. Repeated visits will greatly increase your chances of success as many people need time to evaluate what you have to offer, and make serious decisions.

Sending each email with a well thought out and well written title/subject is very important. The subject of an email is often the deciding factor as to whether or not a recipient of an email wants to open and read it. Your subject must be short and concise. They should provide a summary for the content of the e-mail so that the recipient will have basic knowledge as to what to expect. You want your subject to instantly grab the attention of your readers and get them to be intrigued.

A certain emotion combined with a sense of urgency must get them to open the email. It is essential to use specific words to get the reaction you need. Keep in mind that your subscribers spend only a few seconds looking over each subject of the e-mails received. Your impact must be felt immediately.

There are many forms you can use for your subject. You can say that your e-mail provides tips on certain topics. An example of this is keyword phrases such as, ''How To'' ''Learn How To'', ''Advice'', ''Tips On'', ''Guides to'', ''Formulas For'', ''Systems'', ''Methods'' and anything along those lines. You can also phrase your subject as a question like, ''Do you want to be in business for yourself?'', or ''Would you like to earn residual income?'' Using this strategy is very effective because it elicits an emotional response from your readers. When they have read the question posed by your subject, their mind starts answering the question already. This interaction is magnetic and will make your readers want to read your useful content.

You can also use a subject that commands your reader. Statements such as ''Act now and take control of your future'' or ''Join this recession-proof business''. This approach highlights the benefits your company provides for your potential customers and partners.
You could also use a news headline as your subject to spark interest in your subscribers. For example, if you are marketing breakthrough telecom services you could say ''Use the New Iris 3000 Video Phone and see the person you're talking to!'' This creates curiosity and interest for the reader and will most likely make them open the email and read on. Happy Writing!

4 Online Marketing Tips For Your Business

Most of what you will find online about Internet marketing is designed to help you market products and services sold and delivered exclusively on the Internet. The problem is that marketing your own professional services is simply not the same as marketing a retail product or an anonymous business service. You can't sell corporate consulting like you do web hosting; nor can you sell self-help advice the same way you do an e-book or catalogue.

Here are four web marketing tips that should help tailor your marketing strategies to your business

#1 – It's not just about having a great website.

If you don't know exactly who you are marketing to and how to make them aware of your business, the best website in the world won't get you clients. Before you even think about building a website, you should know who your target market is and what specific benefits you will provides for your clients.

The content of your site is much more important than the design. Yes, you should have a professional and eye-catching site, but a brilliant design and dazzling graphics won't pay off anywhere near as well as a clear explanation of why a potential client should work with you. Useful material such as articles, testimonials, and other samples of your expertise will go much further to persuade prospective clients than flashy intros and features.

#2 –Traffic doesn't automatically result in high Conversion rates

It's great to get traffic to your site, but is it targeted? Are people actually spending time on your site and are they the right people for your business? Before spending money on classified ads, banners, web directories, or pay-per-click listings to drive more visitors to your site, you need to be sure that your marketing to people who are looking for what you have to offer. Build relationships online using relevant forums, blogs, free classifieds, social networks, articles, press releases, and videos.

#3 – Hype rarely results in more Sales

Over the top sales pitches may be effective in selling certain products, but it rarely inspires trust. You don't want to run your web site like an infomercial and risk getting bad reviews online. Bad press always hurts and can spread like wildfire on the Internet.

Your Internet marketing persona should reflect the same professionalism as the work you do with your clients. Your website and associated marketing materials (articles, blogs, forum posts etc…) should inspire feelings of confidence about your abilities, and communicate your reliability and solid qualifications.

#4 –Simple ''turnkey systems'' that claim to make you rich overnight, won't!

There is no secret formula to having success, both online or offline. The secret to landing clients is what it always has been -- build relationships and get people to know, like, and trust you. It takes time and a lot of hard work and dedication. Anyone saying otherwise is either lying, delusional, or both.

If your website, email campaign, and other web marketing activities contribute to building long-term, trusting relationships with prospective clients and business partners, you'll get business on the web. Contrarily if you blast your over-hyped spam to everyone at random, aiming for a quick profit, the Internet won't bring you any more business than accosting everyone you see walking down the street. Success!
